On a beautiful Summer’s day we are delighted to welcome the TENOVUS choir

Hazel Perkins, Clyne Golf Club Captain for 2018, chose Ty Olwen and the Stroke Association as her charities for the year. This afternoon, Hazel, accompanied by John Hollis, General Manager at Clyne who had supported her in her fundraising efforts, presented a cheque for £2,250 to Helen Murray, Ty Olwen Trust Chairman at the clubhouse.

It was coming up to Easter and Julie from Coop Food in Brynhyfryd thought they should have a charity raffle. So the talented Sian baked a beautiful cake and Vivienne set about selling tickets. The end result was £250 raised for their chosen charity Ty Olwen. Dan Jones store manager visited Ty Olwen with the girls to present the cheque and then shared with us their plans to do a sponsored walk to every Coop Foodstore in Swansea – and in fancy dress! Best of luck guys and girls and thank you for your donation.

A massive thank you, once again, to the DVLA staff for the gift of Easter Eggs for Ty Olwen. We have always had Eggs for patients and their families on the ward at Easter but this year they will be shared throughout the day centre and community and hospital teams too. Some of the staff were able to take two minutes out of their busy day to say thank you to each and everyone of you.

VIP visitor today at Ty Olwen when Wallace Yearwood, Ford Bridgend Engine Plant Manager accompanied by Anna Stevens visited the gardens to see the wonderful transformation that has taken place over the last few weeks.

Sue, one of our incredible domestics, has made us a ‘twiddle’ cushion which are invaluable when we are caring for patients with dementia.She has even motivated her craft club to make more! We are always grateful for the many talented people who support us whilst using their skills. Thank you Sue.

Ford Engine Plant at Bridgend have begun the ‘Garden Project’ this week. Thanks to Fords and their wondeful staff who are volunteering their skills and services. This project will make a huge difference to everyone at Ty Olwen. Watch out for further photo’s as work progresses.
