Tom Goss training for Kilimanjaro

Tom Goss striding out!

The Team

Thomas Goss a Swansea University student has chosen Ty Olwen to benefit from his expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro this summer and having saved the money to take part (by hard work) is now concentrating on raising as much as he can to support us. He is certainly a ‘Ty Olwen Champion’ and deserves everybody’s support.

He has sent in the following message-

Hello, Tom here, I have not long come back from a training camp with my team for the trek of Kilimanjaro.

I have attached some pictures to this e-mail of me and the team. Our campsite was in the depths of the Forest Of Dean and we completed 5-6 hour day-walks in preparation for our trek. It was nice to meet up with my team and the weather was fantastic for us!

Ty Olwen Hospice Shop Refurbishment

The Ty Olwen Hospice Shop in High St, Swansea has re-opened for business after a total refit. The shop has raised over £400,000 since it opened in 1994 and was in need of a major refurbishment which has been funded by the Trust Fund. The Trustee’s felt that the contribution from the shop was so important that the benefits will far outweigh the cost. Mrs Rose Pugh a founder volunteer said that “this refurbishment has brought the shop into the 21st century and early comments from shoppers have been very favourable.” Donations of good quality clothing, bric a brac and household goods are always gratefully received. Volunteers who might like to offer their time are always welcome. Please contact:  enquiries@tyolwen.org
