Ty Olwen volunteer driver Lena Chandrani arranged an afternoon tea with an Indian Theme and has raised nearly £1,500 with an additional £750 being donated by Barclays Bank. The event was held at the Sketty Church Parish Centre and attracted a large gathering. All those present enjoyed a splendid afternoon tea, with some delicious Indian cuisine, and were entertained with a delightful display of Indian Dancing and music. There followed a tombola and raffle and an opportunity to try out Saree tying and henna hand tattooing. Lena thanked all those who attended the event and particularly her family and friends who helped to arrange and prepare the wonderful food. Lena is seen presenting a cheque to Chairman Helen Murray supported by Suzanne Bessant of Barclays Bank and MC for the afternoon Minkesh Sood whilst Trustees Dr Y.B.Mathur and Paul Murray look on. On behalf of all at Ty Olwen we wish to thank everybody who contributed in any way to a most enjoyable afternoon.
We are delighted to announce that the Indian Society is arranging a fundraising evening at the Dragon Hotel on Saturday June 1st. Further details will follow soon but please make a note in your diary.
