Helen was delighted to visit the Safe2Slim group in Port Tennant last night and receive a donation for £2,000 for Ty Olwen. A very sociable and welcoming gathering of ladies who among other things had organised a fundraising evening at the Naval and Military Club to raise money for charity and this year shared it between Ty Olwen and Maggie’s.

Cara’s Skydive in memory of Dad John Lewis
Thank you to Cara Lewis who has raised £1,460 for Ty Olwen and presented it to Carol Morris and Delyth Gough today. This is her story –
Cara’s Skydive in memory of my dad John Lewis!!
I decided I wanted to do a Sky dive in memory of my dad. who sadly passed away in 2016 having lost his battle with cancer.
I will never forget this one particular day, it was the day of the Swansea Air Show 2016. He was quite alert when I visited him that day and I decided to ask him “what was the one thing that you’d love to do” he replied “a skydive” so that’s why I did it in his memory.
The reason I chose Ty Olwen was that my dad spent the last remaining time of his life there and the staff at Ty Olwen were absolutely amazing with him and our family. The staff gave my dad the best possible care and comfort for the remaining time of his life, they also had so much respect for him and us! They took care of him and made him feel as comfortable as possible. I can’t thank them enough.
Martin’s Cardiff half Marathon
Congratulations Martin Mahoney on your 14th Cardiff Half Marathon and your 7th for Ty Olwen. although he missed his target by 1 minute, a time of 2 hours 11 minutes for an old git (his words, not mine) is brilliant. He dedicated this years run to the memory of Jan Foale and has raised £1350 so far.
Concert at Capel Y Crwys

Hello, these are some of the lovely photos we had taken today when we presented the cheque and hamper for all the staff to share. This is to say a very big thank you in memory of my father Brian John Thomas. Can I just say a very big thank you to yourself for such lovely communication, it has been a pleasure to speak with you. If there is anything I could do to help with future fundraising events or volunteering then I would love to be a part of this as Ty Olwen really holds a special place in my heart, as do the staff who work there. I told the staff I would send you some photos to upload on the Facebook page. X
Congratulations Jack Roberts
