At their concert at Holy Cross R.C. Church, Gendros on Saturday 21st April, Tabernacle Morriston Choir offered Ty Olwen the opportunity to have a collection afterwards in support of the ‘Give a Pound Appeal’. The concert featured ‘Great British Music’ including Stainers ‘Crucifixion’ and it was well received by a near capacity audience. Thank you to the committee who agreed to the generous offer. £250 was collected on the night.

Thanks also must go to the members of Dunvant Male Choir who all ‘Gave a pound’ at a rehearsal at Olchfa School prior to their Annual Young Musical Theatre Singer of the Year Competition held at the Taliesin Theatre on Saturday 14th April. A thank you to Funeral Directors Eddie Tucker of Killay and William Pressdee of Mumbles who took out an advert in the programme suggesting that the audience should ‘Text a donation’ before turning there phones off before the concert began. Choir Chairman Barry Evans offered the choir’s support at the event which has raised even more money for the appeal.
