Thank you to all the staff and customers of the Range in Llansamlet for raising £448 during their recent fancy dress day in support of their groundsman and handyman Rob Jones a patient of Ty Olwen. Since the event Rob has sadly passed away and we send our sincere condolences to his family and colleagues.
Allison Banfield – London Marathon Runner
Allison Banfield presented a cheque for £3,400 to Ty Olwen Health Care Workers Michelle Road and Deborah Strawford. Alison ran the London Marathon and raised a total of £5,400 of which £2,000 went to Help the Hospices and the balance to Ty Olwen. Also in the photograph is Allison’s mother, who sadly lost her husband in Ty Olwen six years ago and her sister Angela who
said that they would never forget the kindness and support of all the staff. Margaret Bartlett thanked them on behalf of the team and also for Allison and Angela’s promise to continue their support for Ty Olwen.
Greyhound, Neath Darts Competition
Following on from a previous posting Margaret King of the Greyhound, Neath who organised the event has sent in some more photographs and a few words of thanks. Margaret said
“We held a charity darts event at the Greyhound in Neath to raise money for Ty Olwen in memory of my late sister Elizabeth Hopes. The care she received during her time was so kindly received and she passed away with dignity.
The winners were Ian Gill first place and Wolfe in second. Thanks to all who attended and contributed to a fantastic day . The prize money was kindly donated to Ty Olwen by Ian gill and Wolfe and a big thank you to them both.”

Thank you to everybody at Gorseinon Carnival today for donating to Ty Olwen and our collectors Jill, Rachel, Trish, Jean, Kate, Edward, Alex, Paul and Martin.
Tiah is a 11 year old girl from Pontrhydyfen. After losing a good friend of the family to cancer Tiah has decided along with her mum and gran to raise money for this local charity who nursed their friend in her last weeks of illness and looked after her very well.
Tiah will be making loom band keyrings and bands and selling them to any member of the public who would like to donate a pound.
Not only is she doing this Tiah’s Gran and her friends are arranging a charity night on the 24th August Pontrhydyfen Blue scar club if anybody wishes to attend

Greyhound Neath Darts Competition
The Greyhound in Neath has donated nearly £400 to Ty Olwen the proceeds of a Darts Competition and collecting boxes on the bar. Thank you to all those who took part and then proceeded to donate their prize money as well. Thank you Margaret and your regulars for organising and taking part in the event.
Argos donation
Thank you to Paul Blowers and the staff of Argos in the Aberafan Shopping Centre for nominating Ty Olwen to receive a donation from the company of £300. The store was amongst the top three in South Wales during the distribution of the last catalogue, Congratulations and thank you again!

Story
I am a young girl that loves to make loom bands . I came up with an idea of making them and selling them for a charity .
The charity I have picked is Ty Olwen Hospice
A few week ago a close friend of my family sadly passed away with this illness , she was cared and made so comfortable by all the staff I thought that we could give them something back to say thank you for their help. They work so hard and their support is second to none
