James Thomas running the Henley Half Marathon

Story
I am running the Henley Half Marathon in Memory of my mother – Allison Thomas. She was sadly diagnosed with cancer in 2008 in her Breast, Nymph Glands and later went on to effect her vital organs and also her bones. After fighting the disease she lost her battle on the 3rd of July 2011, aged 45.
During the Spring of 2011 she endured a 6 hour operation in Morriston Hospital, Swansea. After the operation, she took residence in the Tŷ Olwen Hospice also situated in Morriston hospital. I cannot describe how helpful and supportive the staff at Tŷ Olwen were, to myself, my family and most of all to my mother during the few weeks she spent there. They gave us all great advice and psychological support during this peroid and couldn’t be more thankful.
I would also like to say a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Tŷ Olwen Hospice for making my mothers time there, that little more comfortable.
Tŷ Olwen has a strong financial commitment from the NHS to fund the day to day running of their services. However, it is necessary for the Tŷ Olwen Trust to raise additional funds to provide the level of care they feel their Patients and their Families deserve.
