Thank you to the DVLA Tunes for Ty Olwen choir for visiting Morriston Hospital today raising money for Ty Olwen and for giving a private concert in the Ty Olwen gardens.
What a joy to see one of our patients in his bed out in the newly laid out gardens and they were looking magnificent today as the choir took a well earned lunch break before going back to work. Thanks so much to those who work hard in the gardens and everyone at Ty Olwen who make it such a special place.
Sam Bishop and friends recently organised a 5 a side Football Tournament with Live Music and Barbecue at Pontardawe Rugby Club to keep alive the memory of their great friend Kristian Slee. Helen is pictured receiving a cheque for £3,659 from Sam and Kristian’s mother Michaela with his grandfather Tudor, brother Ben and friends Dominic,Chummy, Zac and Ashley looking on. Sam hopes to make this an annual event and July 4th 2020 is already being planned.
Congratulations to our secretary Kate Murray on her marriage to Mathew Williams on Friday 26th July. Despite being on honeymoon she is still working for Ty Olwen dealing with our Twitter feed. Dedication!
DAWSONS ESTATE AGENTS SPONSORED PARACHUTE JUMP
It was a long wait this afternoon but well worth it to watch Callum Thomas, Joe Chiffi, James Bolan, Gemma Burgin, Bronte Evans Hope and Ricky Purdy doing a sponsored parachute jump for Ty Olwen. Joe Chiffi and Chris Hope (Senior Partner) from Dawsons Estate Agents and all the team presented Helen with a cheque for £2,567.
Anna Gabrieli’s Fundraising Angels have reached new heights! £10,000 has now been raised for Ty Olwen and Anna and her core team met with staff at Ty Olwen yesterday to mark this phenomenal milestone
DAWSONS Property are raising money for Ty Olwen. Today, visitors to the Quadrant were enchanted by the beautiful singing of Laura Jayne from the Marina Branch and was supported by Dan from Killay and Kelly from Mumbles with her sons Harry and Jacob. Dawsons were recently at the Airshow and have parachute jumps planned soon too. Thank you.
The Cockett Inn was the venue for an amazing Fundraising Night last Saturday. Organised by Jeff Davies in memory of his dear friend John Goulding and supported by family and many friends an amazing £3,500 was raised. Helen was pleased to meet up with John’s sister Gill, brother Colin and some of the many friends who helped with the event.
Alice and Wynne Harry of Garden Village recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary and asked family and friends not to buy them presents but to make a small donation to Ty Olwen instead. They were married at Bethel Chapel Penclawdd on the 7th July 1959. Ty Olwen Trust Minute Secretary Kate Murray collected the gift of £350 on behalf of the Trustees and with her forthcoming marriage next week took the opportunity to ask Mr and Mrs Harry what the secret of a long and happy marriage was.

Hazel Perkins, Clyne Golf Club Captain for 2018, chose Ty Olwen and the Stroke Association as her charities for the year. This afternoon, Hazel, accompanied by John Hollis, General Manager at Clyne who had supported her in her fundraising efforts, presented a cheque for £2,250 to Helen Murray, Ty Olwen Trust Chairman at the clubhouse.
