IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS THAT WE HAVE TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE TY OLWEN SHOP IN HIGH ST WILL CLOSE ON SATURDAY 5TH AUGUST FOR THE LAST TIME. A CLOSING DOWN SALE IS NOW TAKING PLACE.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED THE SHOP OVER THE LAST 23 YEARS ESPECIALLY OUR VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE RUN IT, DONORS AND LOYAL CUSTOMERS. IT HAS RAISED OVER £500,000 SINCE OPENING WHICH HAS MADE AN ENORMOUS DIFFERENCE TO THE CARE WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE.
In 1994, our President, Mrs. Margaret Bartlett, saw the need to raise extra money for Ty Olwen and with her late husband took on the lease to open our Charity Shop at 41, High Street, Swansea. At the same time the Friends of Ty Olwen were formed to act as a management body.
The shop sells good quality donated goods – clothes, bric-a-brac, house hold goods, jewellery, books, records, CDs, DVDs etc, with all profit going to the Ty Olwen Trust.
Since it opened in 1994 a magnificent sum of £367,000 has been raised.
This would not be possible without the public’s generosity in donating the goods for sale and the magnificent team of volunteers who man the shop 6 days a week, 52 weeks of the year.
We need your continued support with the donations of goods to sell. There is a loading bay directly outside the shop that can be used before 10.30 in the morning for deliveries and we can assure you of a warm welcome from our Ladies.
Do you have a few hours spare time that you could give to help in the shop? We would love to welcome you as a Volunteer to join our happy team. Please contact Mrs. Helen Murray on 01792 535813 or call in and see us in High St
